Canine Cognitive Training!
Our dog training classes are designed to develop a happy and confident dog that is able to think critically and respond appropriately rather than react impulsively.
Cognitive dog training is an approach that focuses on challenging a dog’s mental abilities and decision-making skills. This training method encourages dogs to think critically, assess their environment, and respond appropriately rather than relying solely on instinct or learned commands. By engaging in cognitive exercises, dogs learn to process information, solve problems, and make sound choices in various situations. We often incorporates in this form of training positive reinforcement techniques to create an enjoyable learning experience while fostering a strong bond between the dog and the parent. Ultimately, cognitive training aims to develop well-rounded, confident dogs capable of navigating everyday challenges effectively.
Relying solely on learned commands will not help your dog be and remain calm in all situations, as it does not teach them to think independently, differentiate between various scenarios, and control their impulses without suppressing them.
We train impulse control in a natural and scientific way that aligns with the dog’s emotions and internal needs rather than suppressing them or working against them. This approach helps prevent the buildup of internal stress and frustration, which can later lead to explosive behavior.
Blocking your dog emotions does not eliminate them! Sooner or later, they will resurface, usually when you least desire or expect it. Let’s prevent that!
When you sign up for our classes, your dog will gain skills to handle the most typical situations. Essentially, think of training as “skills applied in real life situations.” Our lessons and exercises are clear and well-structured. Participating in these dog training classes will strengthen the bond between you and your dog. We carefully consider the breed-specific traits, age, temperament and your specific living situation to develop an effective behavior training plan tailored just to your needs.
